Her formal training in Yoga includes:

·        The Sivanada School of Yoga.
·        Rod Stryker’s Pure Yoga School.
·        Iyengar, Viniyoga and Kundalini yoga.

She holds degrees in Education and Psychology and is also a

Reike Practitioner. Being part of the baby boomer generation she has introduced yoga to thousands of people.  Her instruction is precise and clear and her warm soothing voice envelops her students with a sense of trust in themselves. Her classes flow smoothly from one posture to the next allowing students to get in touch with their core selves.

Maggie has many private students who receive individualized instruction, often therapeutic in nature. Her clients include high profile people, CEOs dealing with stress, and people dealing with health issues such as MS, cancer, and mood disorders. Certainly the practice of yoga makes no claims to heal these conditions; but an alleviation of symptoms has made the practice very worthwhile.

Maggie teaches in the Thousand Oaks area of California.

Why Yoga?

Yoga has of recent years soared in popularity.  Not without reason!  Regular practice of this ancient science brings benefits on many levels.  The physical body starts to feel better being stretched out and aligned. Dullness and stiffness dissipate.  We get more energy and well being. The yogic combination of breath and movement nourishes the nervous system and brings about a sense of calm focus. Immune functioning is enhanced.  Yoga strengthens the body, brings balance, flexibility and teaches us how to relax. Regular practice lifts depression and builds optimism.

Why Ease-into Yoga?

Patanjali, authority on Yoga, of centuries ago, specified that yoga should be practiced without strain and with a sense of ease.  This makes perfect scientific sense. By combining a movement with breath and doing it slowly and with a deepening relaxation, muscles can stretch well.  In contrast a hurried or jerky movement can cause injury to the muscles and joints of the body. So we cultivate that sense of ease throughout the practice, even though at times certain postures and movements require intense focus and determination. That sense of ease also enhances the sheer pleasure and enjoyment of doing yoga!
